· Visiting Langston by Willie Perdomo (‘85). Noticing in Facebook postings (maybe Ed Randolph’s) that Willie had become a published poet, I randomly ordered what I thought would be a book of poetry and got this enticing picture book about a little girl who is excited about going to see the house of her idol, Langston Hughes. I have been steering clear of value judgements here, but, darn, this is a beautiful book that should be in every lower grade classroom.
